CIERS1 Advanced Workshop 1 is approximately 40 percent lecture and 60 percent hands-on labs. The workshop teaches students how to use an expert-level, problem-solving process, including options analysis, to develop expert-level skills. These live workshops are part of a blended learning curriculum that aids learners in preparation for the Cisco CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Exam v5. The workshop also includes two performance assessments, which are graded and returned with interactive Mentor Guide feedback. Performance assessments and hands-on mini-labs are delivered on IOS on Linux (IOL) platform.

The knowledge and skills that a learner must have before attending this course are these advanced-level competencies (knowledge and skills): Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching skills IPv6 fundamentals RIP, EIGRP, and OSPF configuration skills for both IPv4 and IPv6 BGP configuration skills Multicast configuration skills QoS configuration skills Intermediate-level troubleshooting skills for all technologies listed To gain the prerequisite skills and knowledge, learners must have passed the CCIE Routing and Switching written exam.
